- The guy from Mad Money was on Colbert for the thing he was talking about in this. Trying to get people to buy stuff that they shouldn’t have.
- The basic premise of this seems to me that they are annoyed at everyone for predicting wrong. I’ve always assumed that economists tell people what they need to hear, not what is really going on. Probably a large portion of them lied on camera to try and get people to think that they could buy more, in order to save the economy. Now the guy from Mad money was pretty much ridiculous (you should probably watch the video).
As far as the stimulus package at the end, I’ve heard many different views on it, from everyone. If what he said was true (that people were being scared into it) then that’s…wrong. But I can’t say that it’s any different then any other fear mongering. I’m sure the people that were saying it actually believed it. Is it fear mongering if you’re convinced that it’s truth?
Basically it’s hard to say whether the spending was right or not. I’m sure you have a strong belief one way, and I’m sure other people have a strong belief the other way. It’s easy to say that some people want a specific way because they’re part of a tyrannical regime, but I’m not convinced.
Agreed, though I think it should be obvious the spending was wrong. We tried it for 8 years under Bush and it should be obvious where it has gotten us. Thanks for the comments. I am glad you are thinking these things through. Most people may not care till it’s too late.
