KeePass is a great program for storing your passwords and important information. However, it has an annoying default setting of searching backup keys. This causes your searches for your keys to return multiple results.

Luckily, it is very easy to turn off the search backup functionality. Just follow the steps below.

Right click on your backup folder in your KeePass Password Safe on the left hand side of your screen.

Choose “Edit Group” from the menu.

Click on the “Behavior” tab.

Under the “Searching entries in this group:” dropdown box choose “Disabled” and Press OK.

Save your changes.

Your searches in KeePass will no longer return results from your Backup folder.
